Definition
人に意図的に大きな肉体的または精神的苦痛を与えること。とてもつらい状況にも使われる。
Usage Notes (Japanese)
主に深刻な場面や感情的な文脈で使われる。身体的な拷問（拷問する）や、心の苦しみ（自分を苦しめる）両方に使う。進行形で使われることが多い。
