Definition

リクガメは、ゆっくり動き、陸上に生息する甲羅を持つ爬虫類です。カメに似ていますが、水中ではなく陸だけに住んでいます。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

「リクガメ」は陸上に住む種のみを指し、水棲のカメ（水ガメやウミガメ）には使いません。「巨大なリクガメ」や「ペットのリクガメ」などの表現で使います。ゆっくり動くことの比喩でも使われます。
