道路や橋、トンネルを利用する際に支払う料金のこと。また、事件や災害での犠牲者数を指すこともある。

通常は道路や橋の料金を指しますが、ニュースで『death tolls』のように犠牲者数を表すこともよくあります。「tools」（道具）と混同しないよう注意しましょう。
