Definition

「層」はシステムや組織、構造の中のいくつかのレベルやランク、階層を表します。順位やカテゴリーとしても使います。

ビジネスやIT、ゲームで「トップティア」「価格階層」など頻繁に使われます。ビルの「階」には使いません。「サービスの層」「システム階層」「ケーキの段」によく用います。

There are three tiers of membership at the gym.

ジムには３つの会員**層**があります。
