物を手で空中にすばやく送ることです。ものを捨てることや、何かを急いで催す意味でも使われます。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

ごみなら 'throw away'（捨てる）、'throw up' は吐く。'throw a party'（パーティーを開く）や 'throw a fit'（激怒する）などの慣用表現にも使われます。
