何かの一方から入り、もう一方へ出ること。または、ある期間や過程の始めから終わりまでという意味でも使う。

動詞‘go’, ‘walk’, ‘look’などとよく使う。物理的な移動や「最初から最後まで行う」など完成の意味もある。口語的に「I'm through」で「もうやめた」というニュアンス。'thorough'とは異なるので注意。
