Definition

‘참패’는 경기 등에서 일방적으로 크게 패배하는 것을 의미하고, ‘몸부림’은 통증이나 공포 등으로 심하게 움직이는 것을 뜻합니다.

스포츠에서는 큰 점수 차 패배를 의미('a 5-0 thrashing'). 또한 몸부림치거나 통제되지 않는 움직임에도 사용('thrashing in pain'). 처벌 의미는 거의 쓰이지 않음.
