"think" in Japanese

考える

Definition

物事について考えたり、自分の意見や信念を持ったり、想像したりすること。

日常会話でよく使われる動詞です。「I think that ...」や「What do you think?」のような文で使います。「think about」は何かについて考えるという意味で、「I think so」は同意を表します。「guess」とは確信度が違います。

I think it is going to rain today.

今日は雨が降ると**考え**ます。

She thinks about her family every day.

彼女は毎日家族のことを**考え**ています。

Do you think this is a good idea?

これはいいアイデアだと**思います**か？

I don’t think I can make it to the party tonight.

今夜のパーティーには行けないと**思う**。
