Definition
藁や草、葦などで作った屋根材、またはその材料自体、特に伝統的な家屋で使われます。屋根を覆う層を指すこともあります。

主に昔ながらの家や農村で使われています。「茅葺き屋根」は伝統的な表現。「茅葺き」が髪型を形容することもまれにあります。現代都市では珍しい表現です。
