遺言は、亡くなった後の財産の分配についての本人の希望を示す法的文書です。また、何かの強い証としても使われます。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

“Testament”はフォーマルで、主に法律文書（last will and testament）で使います。比喩的に「〜の証」としても使われます。日常会話では“will”や“proof”を使う方が一般的です。
