Definition

国、集団、動物や人が所有・管理・関連している土地の範囲。また、特定の分野や活動を指すこともある。

政治地域（「国の領土」）、動物の縄張り（「縄張りを主張する」）、比喩的な分野（「それは私の専門分野じゃない」）で使われる。特定地域では可算、広義では不可算。“area”より「所有・支配」や「境界」の意味が強い。
