यह तनाव, चिंता या घबराहट की भावना को दर्शाता है, या लोगों और समूहों के बीच खिंची हुई स्थिति को। इसका अर्थ किसी चीज़ के कसकर खिंचे होने पर बनने वाले भौतिक बल से भी हो सकता है।

Usage Notes (Hindi)

यह शब्द भावनात्मक दबाव ('feel tension'), लोगों या समूहों के बीच खिंचाव ('tension between them', 'racial tension') और भौतिक/वैज्ञानिक संदर्भ ('rope tension') में बहुत आता है। 'Stress' दबाव के लिए अधिक सामान्य शब्द है; 'tension' में खिंचाव, कड़वाहट या भारी माहौल का भाव अधिक होता है। आम प्रयोग: 'create tension', 'ease the tension', 'heightened tension'।
