"tempt" in Japanese
Definition
誰かに特に良くないことや賢明でないことをさせようと引きつけたり誘ったりすること。また、人の興味を引く、悪いことを引き起こす危険を冒す意味もある。
Usage Notes (Japanese)
「tempt fate」は危険をわざわざ冒す意味。「I'm tempted」は興味や誘惑を感じている時に丁寧に使う表現。「tempting」は特に食べ物や魅力的な提案、道徳的選択などで使われる。
