物事や特に音楽が進む速さやリズムのこと。一般的な進行のスピードも指すことがある。

主に音楽で『速いテンポ』『遅いテンポ』と使う。他に生活や活動のペースにも使うが、通常『リズム』とは意味が異なり、速度だけを表す。
