遠くにいる人と話すために使う機械です。特に昔ながらの固定電話にも使われます。

日常会話では「電話」と言います。正式な場面や昔の電話機について話す時にも使います。「電話番号」「電話をかける」などの決まった表現に使われることが多いです。
