Tearing é a forma em -ing de "tear". Normalmente significa rasgar ou romper algo, mas no inglês informal também pode descrever alguém se movendo muito rápido.

É muito usado em estruturas como "tear a page", "tear open a bag" ou "be tearing up paper". Não confunda com "tearing up", que também pode significar começar a chorar ou destruir algo. Na fala informal, "come tearing down the road" significa vir muito rápido, muitas vezes de forma barulhenta ou chamativa.
