Definition

टैटू त्वचा पर स्याही डालकर बनाया गया स्थायी चित्र, निशान या शब्द होता है। यह क्रिया के रूप में भी इस्तेमाल होता है, यानी किसी की त्वचा पर ऐसा निशान बनाना।

रोज़मर्रा की अंग्रेज़ी में यह ज़्यादातर संज्ञा के रूप में आता है: 'get a tattoo', 'have a tattoo', 'tattoo artist', 'tattoo shop'. क्रिया के रूप में 'tattoo' पेशेवर संदर्भों या passive structure में ज़्यादा मिलता है: 'He was tattooed at 18.' इसे temporary body paint या stickers से अलग समझें।
