何かに無断で改変したり損傷させたり、干渉したりする行為。多くは秘密裏や不正に行われ、被害や不当な利益をもたらします。

法的・技術的な場面でよく使われ、必ず無断や不正な行為を示します（例: 'evidence tampering', 'tampering with machinery'）。許可された調整や修理には使いません。
