Definition

訓練や手なづけられて、野生の本能を失った動物を表します。また、人物や物事が落ち着いて刺激が少なくなった様子にも使われます。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

主に動物に使われますが、比喩的に人や状況にも使われます。「tamed animal」「tamed by experience」などの表現に注意。'domesticated'（家畜化）より少し弱い意味です。
