Definition

物語は、想像力豊かな話や伝統的な話など、人を楽しませるために語られるストーリーです。必ずしも全てが事実ではないこともあります。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

「物語」は「story」より文語的や古風に感じられる場合があります。「fairy tale」（おとぎ話）や「tall tale」（ほら話）などの表現に使われます。
