有名人のゴシップやスキャンダルなど、センセーショナルな話題を主に取り上げる小型の大衆紙。大きな見出しと写真が多いのが特徴です。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

あまり信頼できない、または真面目ではない情報源という否定的なニュアンスで使われます。“the tabloids”のように特定の集団として言及されることが多いです。「broadsheet（高級紙）」とは異なります。
