Definition

人や場所、物の周りにある地域や状況、物事のこと。物理的な空間や全体的な環境も指すことができる。

ほとんど常に複数形で使う。「safe surroundings」「familiar surroundings」などの組み合わせが多い。自然や人工環境の両方に使える。「environment（環境）」より具体的な範囲を指す場合が多い。

The hotel is in beautiful surroundings.
