Definition

正式に誰かを呼び出すこと、または魔法のように霊や助けを呼び出すこと。

'summon'はフォーマルな表現で、法律やビジネス、ファンタジーで使われます。「summon someone to court」「summon the courage」「summon a spirit」などの表現があります。日常会話では「call」や「invite」が一般的です。

The teacher summoned the students to the front of the class.
