水や他の液体ですっかり覆われている状態。または、表面の下に隠れて見えにくいものにも使われる。

主に水中のもの（例：'submerged city', 'submerged car'）に使われますが、感情や考えなど見えにくいものにも使われます（例：'submerged emotions'）。説明的に使われることが多いです。
