潜水艦は、水中を移動・活動できる船です。主に軍事目的で使われますが、科学調査や救助にも利用されます。

「潜水艦」は主に軍事や技術関連の話題で使われます。サンドイッチの意味の「サブマリン」ではありません。「原子力潜水艦」や「攻撃型潜水艦」といった表現がよく使われます。
