路面電車は、街中の線路の上を走り、乗客を運ぶ公共交通機関です。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

「streetcar」はアメリカ英語でよく使われ、イギリス英語では「tram」と呼ばれます。古いタイプの路面を走る電車に多く使われます。現代版は「ライトレール」とも呼ばれることがあります。
