কেউ প্রশ্নের উত্তরের সোজাসুজি না বলে, ঘুরিয়ে বলার বা বিলম্ব করার মাধ্যমে কোনো বিষয়ে সহযোগিতা করতে না চাওয়া।

প্রায়ই রাজনীতি, সাক্ষাৎকার বা আলোচনা সর্ম্পকে বলা হয়। যেমন 'stonewall questions' বা 'stonewall an investigation' বলতে ইচ্ছাকৃতভাবে এড়িয়ে যাওয়া বোঝায়।
