Definition

ステッチとは、縫うときに糸で作る一つ一つの縫い目、またはそれによって布や皮膚をつなぐことです。動詞では「縫う」「縫い合わせる」という意味になります。

「縫う」は一般的な動作、「ステッチ」は細かい単位や方法。「縫合」は医療現場で使う。'in stitches'は「大笑い」として比喩的に使う。

She made a small stitch in the shirt.
