「Step」可以指行走時的步伐、執行某事的階段，也可以指樓梯上的每一階。

既能表示走路時的單步，也可指程序中的步驟，如“next step”。常用語搭配如：'step by step'（一步步）、'take a step back'（退一步）、'miss a step'（漏掉一步）。樓梯的 'step' 多指單一階梯。
