他人のものを許可なくこっそり取ること。また、比喩的に密かに何かをする場合にも使います。

'Steals'は三人称単数形で使われます。「steals the show」は注目を集める、「steals a glance」はこっそり見る、など比喩表現にも使われます。「rob」とは異なり、暴力や脅しを伴いません。

He steals cookies from the kitchen.
