"starters" in Japanese

前菜初心者

Definition

「前菜」は食事の最初に出される小さな料理を指します。また、何かを始めたばかりの初心者の意味もあります。

レストランでは「前菜」として使いますが、メインディッシュには使いません。人については「初心者」と訳します。「for starters」は「まずは」の意味です。

We ordered three starters before the main course.

メイン料理の前に**前菜**を3品注文しました。
