「スターター」とは、食事の最初に出る料理（前菜）、試合の最初に出場する選手、または機械を始動させる装置を指します。

食事ではイギリス英語で使われることが多く、アメリカ英語では「appetizer」と言います。スポーツでは先発選手、機械では主にエンジンの部品として使われます。文脈で使い分けましょう。
