Definition

手で強く押したり絞ったりして形を変えたり、中の液体を出したりすること。また、狭い場所に無理やり入ったり、無理に何かを引き出す意味もある。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

「squeeze a lemon」はレモンを絞る、「squeeze someone's hand」は手をぎゅっと握ることに使う。「squeeze into/through/past」は狭い所に無理やり入る・通るときに使う。「squeeze someone for information/money」は無理に聞き出す・搾り取る時に使う。 “press”よりも強い圧力のニュアンスがある。
