Definition

一部の鳥が出す大きくて耳障りな鳴き声、または人が大きな声で文句を言うこと。特にオウムなどに使われる。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

主に鳥の鳴き声に使われますが、人が大声で文句を言うときにも使われます。日常会話では動物に、時には皮肉やユーモアで人にも使います。'parrot squawks', 'squawks of protest' などの表現があります。
