「squares」は四つの辺と角が等しい形や、その形をしたエリアを指します。また、公園や広場、時には古臭い人を意味することもあります。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

主に形や広場などで使われます。「四角形を描く」「広場で会う」など。人を意味する場合はほぼ口語的で日常会話ではあまり使いません。
