작고 색색의 설탕이나 사탕 조각으로, 케이크, 쿠키, 아이스크림 등의 디저트를 장식할 때 사용합니다. 가볍게 뿌려 놓은 것을 지칭할 때도 쓸 수 있습니다.

'Sprinkles'는 주로 디저트 데코레이션으로 사용됩니다. 여러 색이면 '레인보우 스프링클', 갈색이면 '초코 스프링클'이라 부릅니다. 음식이 아닌 곳에는 거의 쓰이지 않습니다.
