Definition

「spotting」は小さな汚れやしみ、何かを見つける・観察すること、または月経以外の軽い出血を指します。

気づく・発見する意味ではカジュアルに使われ、『bird spotting』などに使います。医療では軽い出血に使うので注意。大きなしみに「spotting」は用いません。

I saw some spotting on my shirt after lunch.
