Definition

スポッターとは、主にジムなどで誰かの安全を見守ったり、飛行機や動物など特定のものを観察する人を指します。

ジムでは助け役として使われることが多いです。他にも、飛行機や野生動物を観察する人にも使います。'spot'（見つける）とは異なる意味です。

The spotter stood behind me while I lifted weights.
