用來形容因為加了辣椒或香料而味道很重、很辣的食物。也可以指有很多種香料的食物,不一定很辣。

'Spicy' 多數時候是辣味(如辣椒),有時也指很多香料(不一定辣)。不要和 'salty'(鹹的)、'sour'(酸的)混淆。常見搭配有 'spicy food', 'spicy sauce', 'not too spicy'。
