매우 철저하게 또는 완전히 하는 것을 의미합니다. 주로 깊고 편안한 잠을 표현할 때 쓰이지만, 견고하게 하거나 철저히 하는 의미도 있습니다.

대부분 'sleep soundly'(깊게 잠들다)로 사용합니다. 'soundly defeated', 'soundly built'처럼 철저하거나 확실히 했다는 의미도 있습니다. 'loudly'(크게, 시끄럽게)와 혼동하지 마세요.
