Definition

人や物が滑りやすい場所で思わず動いてバランスを崩すこと。または、物が静かに少しずつずれていくことも表します。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

足元を失いそうなときによく使います（例: 'I'm slipping on the ice.'）。物が手からすべり落ちかけているときにも使います（'The phone is slipping from my hand.'）。'falling（落ちる）'とは違い、必ずしも落ちてしまうわけではありません。
