Definition

大きな音を発して危険を知らせる装置で、警察や救急車などで使われます。また、サイレンは古代の神話に登場する美しい歌声で船乗りを誘惑する存在も指します。

主にパトカーや救急車などの警告音として使われ、神話の意味は文学や比喩でのみ使われます。「アラーム」（目覚まし）とは区別してください。
