Definition

চালানো মানে কোনো কিছু ছাঁকনি দিয়ে ছোট-বড় অংশ আলাদা করা, সাধারণত ময়দা বা বালির ক্ষেত্রে। এছাড়াও, গুরুত্বপূর্ণ তথ্য খুঁজে পেতে কিছু ভালোভাবে যাচাই করাকেও বোঝায়।

Usage Notes (Bengali)

কুকিং বা বিজ্ঞানে 'চালানো' শাব্দিক অর্থে ব্যবহৃত হয়; তথ্যের ক্ষেত্রে 'খুঁজে দেখা'। 'sifting flour' মানে ময়দা ছাঁকানো, আর 'sifting through data' মানে তথ্য থেকে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ কিছু খুঁজে বের করা। 'filtering' আরও সাধারণ।
