サイドショーは、メインショーのそばで行われる小さな出し物やイベントのことです。転じて、本筋ではない副次的な出来事も指します。

日常会話で使われることが多いです。サーカスやお祭りの「脇の出し物」の意味が本来ですが、転じて「本筋とは別の余計な話」など比喩的にも使われます。
