바다에서 사람이나 화물을 운반하는 큰 선박들. '배'의 복수형.

주로 대형 선박에 대해 쓰이며 작은 배에는 사용하지 않습니다. 'cargo ships', 'cruise ships', 'naval ships' 등과 자주 같이 쓰입니다.
