양은 두꺼운 털을 가진 가축으로, 주로 털, 고기, 우유를 얻기 위해 기릅니다. 한 마리일 때나 여러 마리일 때나 같은 단어를 씁니다.

복수형도 '양'입니다. 'a flock of sheep', 'count sheep'와 같은 표현이 있습니다. 남을 무작정 따르는 사람을 가리킬 때도 씁니다.
