Definition

大きな体と鋭い歯を持ち、他の動物を狩る海の魚です。危険なサメもいますが、多くのサメは人間に無害です。

「サメ」は主に動物そのものを指し、海や自然に関する話題で使われます。英語表現「loan shark」のような比喩的な使い方は日本語ではあまり一般的ではありません。

We saw sharks at the aquarium.

水族館で**サメ**を見ました。
