Definition

古くなっていたり手入れがされていないために、みすぼらしく見える状態を表します。また、人の行動が不公平やずるいときにも使います。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

カジュアルでやや否定的な表現です。'shabby clothes'や'shabby furniture'のように使います。また、'shabby behavior'はずるいや不公正な行為を示します。'shabby chic'は別の肯定的表現です。
