「Settles」は、ゆっくり沈むこと、物事や感情が落ち着くこと、問題を解決すること、新しい場所に定住することを表します。
Usage Notes (Japanese)
法律やお金の場面では形式的（例：‘settles a debt’）。‘settles down’は落ち着く・静かに暮らし始める意味でよく使われます。物を置く意味では使いません。
