Definition

섹터는 경제, 사회, 활동 등에서 전체의 한 부분이나 구역을 뜻한다. 수학에서는 원에서 두 반지름과 호로 이루어진 부채꼴을 의미한다.

비즈니스, 정부, 학술 분야에서 'public sector', 'private sector', 'health sector' 등으로 자주 사용된다. 'field', 'area'보다 공식적이고 넓은 의미다. 수학에서는 원에서만 사용함.
